One of the most important problems in the use of filter sand tanks is the frequent manual backwashing. Then the automatic filter valve (automatic sand cylinder head) came into being.

In the past, the filter sand cylinders were all manual valves. The high-flow filter sand cylinders are all six-way multi-directional valves made by the manufacturer. It has many functions such as filtration, rinsing, backwashing and circulation. The pure water equipment filter sand tank uses a three-position valve, only the most basic filtration, flushing, backwash function. Manual operation is quite convenient.

However, if the target water in the filtered water is high in content, manual backwashing is required. The specific backwashing cycle depends on factors such as flow rate, content of suspended impurities, and size of sand. For example, in the sewage water treatment project, the filter sand tank cannot be used for the previous filtration. Because too much dirt can quickly block the sand tank, causing the flow to drop rapidly. Manual backwashing is too frequent and can greatly increase labor costs. Therefore, it is imperative to find a safe and reliable, high-automatic sand cylinder head.

working principle

If the flow rate is large (above 50T/H), we can use a flange type large sand tank for filtration. At the same time install a series of solenoid valves and a PLC controller, a pressure sensor. When the dirt accumulates too much above the sand layer, the influent water pressure will increase. When the water pressure is increased to the value set by the host, the PLC controller will start the backwash mode. First turn off the water pump, then close the water outlet valve, open the drain valve at the same time, and then start the water pump for backwashing operation. The time interval in this process can be written in advance in the PLC controller. Of course, the program in the PLC controller can also be set by time.

When the flow rate is lower than 50T/H, an automatic sand cylinder head made by mold opening can be used. There are many types of automatic filter valves that have this function. The most famous one is the imported "Pwos" automatic sand cylinder head. The main unit has a power cord and the solenoid valve is also connected to the power supply. Both sealing and insulation are quite high. There is also a domestically-made Runxin automatic filter valve. However, the scope of application is limited. It is generally used in pure water treatment where the flow rate does not exceed 10T/H. Of course, the pressure coefficient of the automatic sand cylinder head will not exceed 0.4MPa.

cost analysis

The advantages of automatic filter valves are considerable. Long-term operating costs are greatly reduced relative to manual sand cylinder heads. But the cost of a one-time investment is slightly higher.
