Protein separator advantages and features

Protein skimmer is also known as egg, egg, egg, nitrogen generator, protein demister, protein fractionator, foam fractionator. It is based on the principle that the surface of the bubble in the water can absorb various granular impurities and soluble organic matter mixed in the water. The oxygenation device or the vortex pump generates a large number of bubbles, which will purify the seawater through the protein separator. Focusing on the surface of the water to form a foam, the adsorbed foam is collected in a container on the surface of the water, and it is turned into a turbid liquid to be removed.

Advantages of protein separators

1. It is not a filter, but a simple machine;

2. It can separate the organic matter before it is decomposed into toxic waste, reducing the burden on the biochemical system;

3. Increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water.

Characteristics

Although protein separators have many advantages, they can only remove up to 80% of organic metabolic products in the water cycle. In order to achieve better results, the protein separator must be used in conjunction with the ozone machine.

The water also contains substances that cannot be broken down by protein separators, including proteins such as plasma proteins, and certain components of protein in amino acids. Usually protein separators can only remove 30% to 50% of the material. The more active a protein separator is, the more power it needs.

With the input of power and the expansion of the surface, in addition to the combination of protein, other effects can be produced. First, a very favorable factor is that a large amount of oxygen is injected into the water, which can promote bacterial decomposition of the residue. However, this effect also removes carbon dioxide from the aquarium and also causes a decrease in the hardness of the carbonate and an increase in the pH. Due to the intensive exchange of different gases, namely carbon dioxide and oxygen, the oxygen content of the reaction contact portion is extremely high, resulting in the oxidation of major trace elements such as iron, molybdenum and manganese outside the water surface. In addition, the effect on the single-celled yellow algae is also very significant, and the gel used to preserve trace elements will be disintegrated due to this reaction. The clean water discharged from the protein separator is rich in oxygen and contains only a small amount of carbon dioxide, trace elements and vitamins. Therefore, when using a protein separator, these substances must be appropriately added. However, this can also create special difficulties, especially when the protein separator has to rely additionally on ozone to work.
